Telephoned Allianz Assistance who manage Halifax Emergency Cover at about 8.30am, held on for 35 minutes, then answered by a lovely lady who was great. We acknowledge that this was an incredibly busy time for them due to the cold snap. Was told that CET, their emergency cover people would text within an hour. After around 6 hours, we telephone Allianz again and waited over an hour. During this time, as we were cold, we contacted a local plumber who told us what he thought the problem was and what to do to sort it. Allianz eventually answered and said that they would chase CET.
So if a pipe bursts, you would claim for the repairs to the pipe on Home Emergency cover. You’d claim for any water damage from the leak on your home insurance. What an absolute joke, i have just tried to call them to discuss my renewal and they will not speak to me because they cannot get me through the security. I would like Halifax / Axa to reverse the decision not topay for the repairs, after all you’re only going to pay ‘upto £250 towards thecosts’ that still leaves me with £532.47p to find.
